God speaks in many ways. Often it’s in a word.
The word he has spoken to me in the past week is----I AM ABLE! Is anything too hard for the LORD? One version says is anything impossible for the Lord? Genesis 18:14 In this passage He spoke to Sarah and told her she would have a child. In the natural, it was impossible, she was too old, that’s why she laughed. But, we see in scripture, it came to pass. For no word from God will ever fail." Luke 1:37 When God gives you a word (Rhema), or you find a promise in the bible (Logos), you can STAND and believe it WILL come to pass. Often we base our belief in what we see and our faith gets watered down. Hebrews 11:1- Definition of faith: Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen. HCSB Now faith is confidence in what we hope for, and assurance about what we do not see. Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. ESV Our walk with God is by faith; It’s in this walk that we learn how to hold onto what we cannot see and learn to trust him. But HOW? *Find a scripture or a testimony that came to pass, in the bible. *Speak that over your situation. Then, DO NOT DOUBT. How do I “not doubt”? *By saying out loud, EVEN WHEN YOU DON”T SEE EVIDENCE, what the scripture promises each time you consider doubting. I tell my bible study students to put duct tape over their mouths so they don’t water down their faith with words of doubt. (lol) The second part of Hebrews 11:1 popped off the page, so much so, it enticed me to study what “proof of” meant. As I studied this, I got the revelation of what it means when God says he is the author of our faith. He actually goes through a “proving” of Where HE proves and assures and convinces us; which develops a trust and strength in Him, as we believe and depend on HIM. As the seed or word we spoke is planted and before the harvest comes, there is a period of time. There is seedtime and harvest as long as the earth endures. Gen 8:22 A period of time: proving or convincing that goes on in the spirit, where our faith is perfected, before we see the harvest (what we are believing for manifest in the natural). Faith becomes the evidence of the thing not seen yet!! God is more interested in our relationship with him, than the final destination. He refines our character during this time. If you are believing for something; a job, a mate, for your children to turn back to Christ….anything. *Find a promise in HIS WORD and speak that over your situation. (That is a seed planted. Matt. 13) * Before the harvest or the manifestation of what you spoke forth, water the seed with your words of faith. Become fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. Romans 4:21 *Watch it come it come to pass. God will give you that exact thing or something better! GOD IS ABLE!! Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26

We all have them; Times when we must choose. A moment where the choice we make defines our future. For me, it was seven years ago. I had been going about my life and living big. It was good! I had a beach house for the summer. Traveled all over the United States. Searching for “Mr. Right”. Sure I was divorced and raising a child alone, but I was filling that pain with stuff. Places, people….fun. One regular day, I say regular day because, that is usually how it is. We are just living life and God speaks or in my case intervenes. I was walking to the kitchen and heard “I AM “ not playing with you anymore, little girl. I want you to allow me into all areas of your life. I gasped! Aaaah! It stopped me in my tracks. Like when a parent grabs your arm and looks into your eyes and says, “Stop it”. He got my attention. God speaks however we listen. He had my attention. I knew enough ABOUT God to listen. If you noticed all the “I’s” above. I had it all figured out. There is a fine line between EGO and pride verses confident in Him. God wants us to have self-confidence. But the “I” needed to be in Him. It’s in Him that I can do all things, with HIS strength, deposited in me. (Eph. 1:4, Phil. 4:13). That day was a defining moment for my eternity. We all have it. We choose to be for him or against Him. Joshua 24:14 says: “choose this day whom you will serve”. Over the next seven years, I learned the slight difference between “self confidence” and self-confidence in and thru Him. I have a relationship with my Father today. I don’t just know about Him; I know Him. God has placed eternity in our hearts and nothing under the sun satisfies, BUT GOD! That defining moment changed my life. |
