Jesus reestablished the Kingdom of Heaven on this earth, as God originally intended. And it will be fully established into a new Heaven and New Earth (Rev. 21) when Jesus comes back.
We can be citizens of His Kingdom if we choose, by being born again, in the Spirit, In Christ (John 3:5). It’s a free gift. You only have to believe that Jesus is Lord and God raised Him from the dead and you will have eternal life (Romans 10:9-10). Scripture tells us in Matthew 6:33- #1 Seek first the Kingdom of God (or Heaven) #2 and His righteousness….THEN all else is added. In The Kingdom of God, the New Testament is God’s written will or “testament” as to how His Kingdom operates. God established principles, for us to operate in. These principles cause our lives to prosper, in all areas, when we follow them. Prayer: Father, as I seek you through your Word, teach me your Kingdom principles so that I can apply them to my life so that the benefits and plans (Jer 29:11) you have established for me will manifest. You are my King! Amen

Years ago when I would drive my son to school, we would listen to secular music. It was such a contrast to the Christian music that I listened to most of the day. Many times, the music was disturbing, as it is was with many parents. One day, I heard a rapper saying or singing, not sure which,
“Be thankful for what you do got!” I thought: well that preaches. That’s a good point. So I told my son, I don’t really like the music, but I do like the lyrics or at least that “one line”. I think that sums up how to be happier. We can look at others and see what we don’t have. The comparison is another way for the enemy to say You don’t measure up. Your marriage is not good. Your finances are lacking. You’re not good looking or thin enough. The list goes on and on…. If we keep an attitude of praise and thank God for what we have and what he has done, it allows us to be happier in life. We are increased! Phillipians 4:6-9 – 6 Give thanks to God as you ask Him for what you need. 7 The peace of God is much greater than the human mind can understand. This peace will keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Christian brothers, keep your minds thinking about whatever is true, whatever is respected, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever can be loved, and whatever is well thought of. If there is anything good and worth giving thanks for, think about these things. 9 Keep on doing all the things you learned and received and heard from me. Do the things you saw me do. Then the God Who gives peace will be with you. When we are grateful and think upon positive life giving things, God fills us with His peace. Prayer: Father, Help me to keep my eyes on you and your blessings for me. I thank you for____________________________________________________________. I thank you for your peace. Amen. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth unto salvation (Romans 10:10).
This scripture clearly is for salvation, especially when you consider the context and the verse before. Confess your belief in Jesus and you will be saved and live eternally with Him. But as you believe in Him, He perfects us and makes us more like Jesus, the scripture does what is says over and over. Believe in our heart and confess with our mouth “unto salvation”. Salvation here means wholeness or complete. It is a walk with the Lord: a process. Scripture says the Lord will finish his work in us until the day Christ returns (Phil 1:6). We all are a “work in progress”; all at different stages. The goal is to always be moving forward: from glory to glory. To be made whole is to be made better or more complete in Him: more like Jesus (Eph 5). In a relationship with the Lord, He changes and perfects us and works out the trash that is holding us back. We have to be willing to give him our whole heart and allow Him access to our whole life. It’s our choice as to the level of our walk and degree of access we allow God in. His desire is for our lives to be fuller and better. He came so that we could have life and have it in abundance (John 10:10). It’s in this process that we come to realize how much He loves us. |
