Rebellion or Obedience?

I am in a writing group that chose the topic of: Obedience. Today, I don’t have a problem with this word. Being obedient to God is powerful and causes Him to move on my behalf.  But, I must confess, ugh; there was a day that I did not like the word, or the act of, obedience. I never had the opportunity for God to work mightily in my life or have my faith get bigger, because I was so resistant to God and His ways. I always wanted to do it my way. I thought doing it God’s way would rob me of fun!

It wasn’t until I fell in love with Jesus, the part of God that became man and actually walked on this earth and encountered the same things you and I encounter, that I gained a desire to be obedient.

My point to you is: Focus on getting to know Jesus (Christ), the person; by reading his Word and studying who God is; all parts of who God is. In this fellowship, you fall in love with Jesus, your Savior and King. Then, one-day, your obedience is birthed out of love, not duty.

   Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. Col 1:15

Where in your life, is disobedience stopping God from moving on your behalf? Father, 
Help me fall in love with Jesus, so I desire to be obedient! Thank you that as I step out in faith and obedience, you are faithful to do your part. I am excited to see you at work in my life!
