But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. Philippians 3:20
When I traveled to Europe, years ago, I felt out of place. Even though there were things I loved about the place; the fountains and architecture, the ambiance of the quaint cities and the cobblestone streets. I did not fit there. I did not speak their language. Being a Christian is a lot like that. I was in the city but not of the city; like we are in this world but not of it. Our citizenship is in Heaven! (Romans 12:2) Don’t be conformed or like this world, be transformed in your mind to think like Christ (Romans 12:2). Sometimes that is uncomfortable or odd; in the world’s standard. But it is pleasing and good in God’s will. To know what that looks like and eventually feels like; often, it won t feel right at first; we have to read His Word. The Bible gives us a mirror into our soul (James 1:23-25). Looking into this mirror transforms our lives: First in our heart and our soul (our thinking). Next, it manifest in our outward lives. So, it starts in our heart or our spirit and manifest in our outward life. God is always doing an inside job. But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7 ESV When we seek God, and how His kingdom operates, then everything else lines up in order. (Matt 6:33) Prayer: Father create in me a desire to read your Word, with understanding. I desire for you to transform my life into what is pleasing to you; through the Word and the power of the Holy Spirit in me! APPLICATION- 1- Pray for desire to read and understanding of his Word. 2- Seek Him by reading his Word. 3- Apply what the Word is instructing you to do. 4- Transformation occurs; not by your might but by HIS SPIRIT (Zech 4:6) and the power of the Word.
