Why do we pray for others?
We pray for others because Jesus did. We are to be like Him. The Holy Spirit will help us. It is impossible in our own flesh. As I write this, I am telling myself these things. It is hard to do that when others are casting stones at you. Whether its words or just turning their back towards you; We are to pray for them. Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty. Zechariah 4:6 Jesus asked His Father to forgive the people murdering him as he hung on the cross. Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. Luke 23:34 What happens when we pray for others? RESTORATION- When Job prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his fortunes. In fact, the LORD gave him twice as much as before! Job 42:11 HEALING- (Anything that is not whole: sickness in your body, healing of emotional wounds, healing of lack, healing of a broken heart…anything that needs healing) Pray for each other so that you may be healed. James 5:16 YOU RECEIVE WHAT YOU GIVE- You actually decide what you get in return, by what you give out. Do to others as you would have them do to you. Luke 6:31 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Luke 6:38 Prayer: Father, Thank you that your spirit is in me. I forgive ______________ for ______________. I cast this at your feet because you care for me, you provide, heal, vindicate and restore the broken places in my life. Help me to love others as you love me, so that they will see you, my Father, and come to know you more. Amen.
